Electricity meter - Energy Measurement Function (EMF) - EN 50463
The ECM-4000 is an on-board electricity meter for measuring the traction electric energy consumption of a traction rail vehicle, which implements the energy measurement function (EMF) defined in the EN 50463 series of standards. It measures the voltage and current in the traction supply and calculates the electrical energy consumed and recovered by the vehicle.
The measured values of the consumed energy are stored in load profiles and made available to the data processing system for compilation into billing data. The ECM-4000 is the measuring building block of the ECMS-4000 electricity metering system.
The ECM-4000 is designed in accordance with the EN 50463 series (railway applications - energy measurement on board trains), in particular EN 50463-1 (general), EN 50463-2 (energy measuring) and EN 50463-3 (data handling interface).
